Photography of a Denver Colorado Family Skiing at Winter Park Resort

Outdoor Winter Adventuring with One of My Favorite Families

I cannot stress how much I love photographing the same families every year. Not only is it a joy to watch the children grow up, but it is fun to pick up where we left off the previous year, especially when it involves goofing off. This Denver family is one that I have photographed several times, and I was really excited to meet them up in Winter Park for a few hours of skiing and photography as part of one of my Choose Your Adventure sessions.

We loosely planned to do a couple of ski runs and then walk around the bottom of the ski resort for photos. I wasn’t sure how tired the two kiddos would be, so I wanted to keep things as simple as possible. Well, they were great skiers who never complained about being cold or tired while I was around. (I hope my boys are like this!) After a couple runs, we headed to a playground for a little snowball fight, some posed photos, and playing (of course). Again, these kids were troopers! They climbed up the equipment in ski boots like it was totally normal. After this, we sat down by a fire pit to warm up, and feeling a bit more cozy definitely made me feel a little tired.

Take a look at some of these snowy family photos. With proper planning, cold winter weather does make for fun family photographs.

hey there!

I've been photographing families professionally since 2006. I am a wife, mama to 2 boys, companion to 2 cats who are named after members of the royal British family, a former preschool teacher. I love running, hiking 14ers, sparkly clothes, the band Phish, river float trips, St. John USVI, farm CSAs, and Colorado blue skies.
