I'm Susannah — a family, newborn, maternity, and senior photographer serving Louisville and the surrounding Boulder County communities. I've been photographing Colorado families professionally since 2006, and I know how to make a session feel easy whether we're wandering through Downtown Louisville, out at Davidson Mesa with the Flatirons behind you, or spending an afternoon in your own home.
No stiff poses, no stressful directions. I take care of all of it so you can just be your family.
Louisville families often ask me about documenting both pregnancy and those first weeks with a newborn — and yes, I do both.
The newborn stage is over so fast. And the weeks just before — that last stretch of pregnancy when everything feels both endless and fleeting — deserve to be documented too. There's something special about having images that show he anticipation, the arrival, or both.
Maternity Photos — Maternity photo sessions are relaxed and unhurried. We head to the location of your choice, or I help brainstorm — Davidson Mesa at golden hour is always a good call. Not sure what to wear? I have a client wardrobe you're welcome to pull from. You don't need a plan, a pose, or an outfit picked out weeks in advance. You just need to show up.
Newborn Photos — In-home newborn sessions are my favorite way to document those first days — because your home is where the real story lives. The crib you painted. The window with the good morning light. The couch where everyone piles together for the very first time.
I come to you, anywhere in Louisville or the surrounding Front Range. Sessions move entirely at your baby's pace — there's time for feeding, soothing, and all the unhurried snuggles. I'll wrangle siblings, help nervous partners relax, and keep everything as calm as possible. You just soak it in.
One tip: book your newborn session during pregnancy so your spot is reserved. The sweet spot for photos is days 5–14, before babies get too alert and wiggly — and those weeks fill up fast.
There's a reason in-home family sessions are my favorite: your home tells your story in a way no park ever could. The books on the nightstand, the kitchen where everyone ends up, the couch that has seen a thousand movie nights. It's all yours — and it all shows up in the photos.
There's a practical case for it too. Little ones can take a snack break without anyone packing up. A reluctant spouse can disappear for five minutes and come back. Nobody has to rush out the door looking perfect. You just open the front door and we're already there.
For families who want to be outside, Downtown Louisville and Davidson Mesa are both worth considering depending on what you're going for — I'm happy to make a recommendation based on your neighborhood and what kind of images you have in mind.
I focus on the real in-between moments — the laugh, the pile-on, the kid who makes a run for it. Those are the ones that end up on your wall.
Preschool to kindergarten. Elementary to middle school. And then somehow, they're seniors — and you're already looking forward to them walking across the stage for their diploma.
This is the year to stop and document exactly who they are right now. Before everything changes again.
I photograph seniors from Monarch High School and surrounding Louisville communities.
If your senior doesn't have location ideas yet, I'm happy to make suggestions — Downtown Louisville has great character, and Davidson Mesa is always worth considering for that Colorado backdrop. For something more mountain-feel, there are spots in the foothills west of Louisville worth the short drive.
I handle yearbook photo submission directly, so that's one less thing on your plate.
Senior portrait sessions start at $600 and include 15 digital images. I'd recommend booking by late spring or early summer — fall slots fill up quickly.
Have questions? I'd love to hear about your senior.

Family, newborn, and maternity sessions include a $300 session fee. After your gallery reveal you choose a collection of digital files and print credit toward artwork, ranging from $800–$1,500. Most families invest between $1,100 and $1,875 total.
Senior portrait sessions start at $600 and include 15 digital images plus yearbook photo submission. Upgrades available.
Every session includes planning support, styling guidance, and a curated online gallery.
Book two sessions within 12 months and receive $300 off your second session fee. This is especially popular with maternity and newborn clients who want to document both pregnancy and those first weeks with baby — and with newborn families who return for a family session as their baby grows. Parents of seniors who add a family session while everyone is together love it too.
I'm Susannah, a Marylander at heart (um, crabs, Cal Ripken Jr., and Natty Boh hon) who has lived in Colorado for 20 years. I am also a mom, wife, cat mama, and (of course) photographer.
I've been photographing families, kids, babies, and weddings professionally for 15 years. Before being a professional photographer, I was a preschool and art teacher.
Currently, I love reading books, watching my boys play soccer, the bands Phish and King Gizz, hiking 14ers, running, rafting, traveling, and all things photography.
Also, I love and am terrified of mountain lions.
