Longmont Family, Newborn, and Senior Photographer

Whether you just brought a baby home, your kids are suddenly school-aged and you can't figure out where the time went, or your senior is almost out the door — I'm here for all of it.. I'm Susannah, a Longmont family and newborn photographer with nearly two decades of experience capturing Colorado families the way they actually are: real, warm, a little chaotic, and completely worth remembering.

I specialize in relaxed, in-home newborn sessions and family photography throughout Longmont — and I know how to work with both sleepy newborns and kids who won't sit still. No stiff poses, no stressful directions. Just images you'll love.

Newborn +  Maternity Photography in Longmont

The newborn stage is over so fast. And the weeks just before — that last stretch of pregnancy when everything feels both endless and fleeting — deserve to be documented too.

I offer both maternity sessions and newborn sessions, and many Longmont families book both. There's something special about having images that bookend that entire season: the anticipation, and then the arrival.

Maternity
Longmont has incredible settings for maternity sessions — the light at McIntosh Lake in late afternoon, the open meadows at Golden Ponds, or simply your own home if you want something intimate and real. Sessions are relaxed and unhurried. You don't need a plan, a pose, or a perfectly decorated nursery. You just need to show up.

Newborn
In-home newborn sessions are my favorite way to document those first days — because your home is where the real story lives. The crib you painted. The window with the good morning light. The couch where everyone piles together for the very first time.

I come to you, anywhere in Longmont or the surrounding Front Range. Sessions move entirely at your baby's pace — there's time for feeding, soothing, and all the unhurried snuggles. I'll gently wrangle siblings, help nervous partners relax, and keep everything as calm as possible. You just soak it in.

One tip: I recommend booking your newborn session during pregnancy so your spot is reserved. The sweet spot for photos is days 5–14, before babies get too alert and wiggly — and those weeks fill up fast.

Longmont Family Photography Sessions

Longmont is one of my favorite places to photograph families., I love the beautiful trees at Thompson Park. The light at McIntosh Lake in late afternoon is hard to beat. The trails around Golden Ponds offer gorgeous natural backdrops. Even Old Town has a warmth and character that shows up beautifully in photos.

Family sessions are relaxed and fully guided — I'll never leave you wondering what to do with your hands. I focus on drawing out real interactions: the in-between moments that happen when kids are playing, parents are laughing, and nobody's thinking about the camera. Those are the images that end up on your wall.

In-Home Family Photographer in Longmont

Your home is always my favorite option — especially for families with young kids. There's something about photographing a family where they actually live: the couch everyone piles onto, the kitchen where breakfast happens, the backyard your kids know by heart. Those details are the story. I come to you, I handle the direction, and you don't have to worry about your home looking perfect.

Longmont Senior Photography

Preschool to kindergarten. Elementary school to middle school. And then somehow, suddenly, they're seniors — and you're already dreading the moment you drop them off at college and drive away.

This is the year to stop and document exactly who they are right now. Before everything changes again.

I've photographed seniors from Longmont High, Niwot, Skyline, and Silver Creek. If your senior doesn't have any location spots in mind, I'm happy to make suggestions. Roger's Grove is a favorite — I love the area along the St. Vrain River as well as the pine trees and cool tunnel. For more of a Colorado feel, the mountains west of Longmont or a trail at Hall Ranch in Lyons are worth the drive. And sometimes the right session is simply wandering through Old Town Longmont and grabbing a drink at Ziggi's.

I also handle yearbook photo submission directly, so that's one less thing on your plate.

Senior portrait sessions start at $600 and include 15 digital images. I'd recommend booking by late spring or early summer — fall slots fill up quickly, especially for Silver Creek and Niwot seniors whose yearbook deadlines tend to come early.
