I've been photographing families and seniors in Nederland for years — up by Caribou ghost town for amazing views, Chipeta Park and Mudd Lake, even at Salto Coffee for something more personal and downtown. In-home sessions work well too, especially for newborns and young families.
The newborn stage is over so fast. And the weeks just before deserve to be documented too. Many Ned families book both maternity and newborn sessions to document that entire season.
Newborn — In-home newborn photography sessions are my favorite. Your home is where the real story lives. I come to you, anywhere in Nederland or the surrounding mountain areas. Sessions move at your baby's pace — time to feed, soothe, and settle. Book during pregnancy — the sweet spot is days 5–14 and Nederland spots fill up fast.
Maternity — The area around Nederland has some of the best outdoor maternity locations in Boulder County — mountain backdrops, the reservoir, streams. I also have a client wardrobe if you're not sure what to wear for an outdoor session up here. Most clients schedule maternity sessions between 28–34 weeks.
In-home sessions are my first recommendation for families with young kids. The bedroom with the glow-in-the-dark stars. The kitchen table where everything happens. The couch that's seen a thousand movie nights. Someday your kids will want to see exactly where they grew up. Your home can give them that.
There's a practical case too. Little ones can take a snack break without anyone packing up. A reluctant spouse can disappear for five minutes. Nobody rushes out the door. You just open the front door and we're already there.
For families who want to be outside: the Clear Creek Trail runs right through downtown — paved, easy walking, creek alongside and foothills as your backdrop. Table Mountain is stunning at any time of year. And the Golden History Park has warmth and character that few outdoor locations can match.
For families who want to be outside, Nederland has many options — Chipeta Park, Mud Lake, Fourth of July trail and on and on.
Family sessions are relaxed and unscripted. I focus on what's actually happening — the laugh, the pile-on, the kid who makes a run for it.
Somehow, suddenly, they're seniors. This is the year to document exactly who they are before everything changes.
Golden High School seniors have something most suburban seniors don't — a genuinely beautiful town that photographs unlike anywhere else in Jefferson County. The creek, the historic downtown, Table Mountain, the foothills backdrop — all of it makes for senior portraits with real character.
I photograph Golden seniors at the locations that feel most like them. The Clear Creek Trail for something natural and relaxed. Downtown Golden's historic streets for something with more edge and personality. Table Mountain when they want something dramatic with a view.

Family, newborn, and maternity sessions start with a $300 session fee. After your gallery reveal you choose a collection of digital files and print credit toward artwork, ranging from $550–$1,150. Ned families invest between $850 and $1,450 total.
Senior portrait sessions start at $600 and include 15 hand-edited digital images plus yearbook photo formatting and submission. Upgrades available.
Every session includes planning support, styling guidance, and an online gallery. And because I know a folder of digital files sitting on your computer isn't the goal — print credit is built into every collection so the images actually end up somewhere you can see them.
If you book again within 12 months, your session fee drops to $100. Book any 3 sessions within 12 months and you'll receive a complimentary 12x12 layflat album.
