Multi-generational Family Portraits in Boulder

I Love Grandparents + Multi-generational Family Portraits

One of my girlfriends from my small Maryland college told me that she would be in Boulder, Colorado (all the way from England, no less!) to visit her grandparents. She asked if I had time to take multi-generational family portraits of her, her kids, and her grandparents. My answer was obvious. YES!!! When it comes to grandparents, I will always do my best to find the time to accommodate requests.

Grandparents are my favorite. I think are among the most important guests at weddings. And to include grandparents or great-grandparents in a family photo session…that is pretty special/important/meaningful/beautiful. So, yes, of course I found time to take these multi-generational family portraits!

Outdoor Boulder Family Photo Session

The photo shoot location was at her grandparent’s house–perfect! We met up on a spring day during the brief visit, and we just hung out. Photographing at your home/yard is such a great spot, especially for young kids, uncertain partners, and even grandparents. It is comfortable, people can take breaks and rest or answer emails, kids always like showing off their spot…I could go on and on.

This session included sisters, children, a husband, grandparents…a pink balloon, a red wagon, and a train (because toddler boy). We hung out on a beautiful, green, rural property. I captured the family simply interacting and being togeher…There was no posing the toddler girl, and I absolutely loved the scowls she gave me. I loved the expressions Keating’s grandma made…so beautiful and happy. And Keating looks like an angel to me as she holds her sleeping babe. And, Dad and son rough-housing, since that how it seems to go down.

Enjoy the images, and thank you for your time. If you are interested in booking your own multi-generational family portraits, be sure to email me or fill out the contact form on this site. I would love to know a few date possibilities, any location ideas, the number of people who will be photographed as well as the ages of kiddos.
