Fort Collins is one of those places that has everything — Old Town's historic alleys and murals, Horsetooth on your doorstep, the Poudre River running through it all. It's genuinely beautiful, and it photographs that way too.
I'm Susannah, a family and newborn photographer serving Fort Collins and Northern Colorado. Whether you just brought a new baby home, your family is overdue for photos, or your senior is almost out the door — I'd love to document it here. No stiff poses. No stressful process. Just real, warm images worth keeping.
The newborn stage is over so fast. And the weeks just before deserve to be documented too. Many Fort Collins families book both maternity and newborn sessions to capture both stages of life.
Newborn Sessions
I travel to Fort Collins for in-home newborn sessions. No packing up a brand new baby and driving somewhere, no unfamiliar studio. Newborn photo sessions move at your baby's pace — time to feed, soothe, and settle.
Book during pregnancy — the sweet spot is days 5–14 and Fort Collins spots fill up fast.
Maternity Sessions
Fort Collins has some genuinely beautiful natural settings for maternity sessions. Lory State Park is stunning — red rocks, pine trees, and Horsetooth Reservoir views all in one place, with that distinctly Colorado feel that photographs beautifully. The Poudre River corridor has a lush, natural quality that works especially well in summer and fall. And if you want something more open and dramatic, the Horsetooth area delivers sweeping views that are hard to beat for maternity portraits.
Client wardrobe available. Most clients book between 28–34 weeks.
Here's what I always tell Fort Collins families: your home is worth photographing. The kitchen where everyone ends up. The bedroom with the glow-in-the-dark stars on the ceiling. The couch that has seen a thousand movie nights. Someday your kids will want to see exactly where they grew up — and a session at Horsetooth, as beautiful as it is, can't give them that. Your home can.
There's a practical case too. Little ones can take a snack break without anyone packing up. A reluctant spouse can disappear for five minutes. Nobody rushes out the door. You just open the front door and we're already there.
Family photo sessions are fully guided, completely relaxed. Real in-between moments — the laugh, the pile-on, the kid who makes a run for it. Those are the ones that end up on your wall.
Somehow, suddenly, they're seniors. This is the year to document exactly who they are before everything changes.
Fort Collins is a genuinely great city for senior portraits. Old Town's historic architecture and colorful alleys make for senior photos with real personality. Lory State Park and the Horsetooth area give you dramatic Colorado scenery. Lee Martinez Park has that relaxed, natural feel that works for almost any style.
Whether your senior is at Fort Collins High, Poudre, Rocky Mountain, or Fossil Ridge — I'm happy to suggest locations based on their personality and style.

I'm Susannah, a Marylander at heart (um, crabs, Cal Ripken Jr., and Natty Boh hon) who has lived in Colorado for 20 years. I am also a mom, wife, cat mama, and (of course) photographer.
I've been photographing families, kids, babies, and weddings professionally for 15 years. Before being a professional photographer, I was a preschool and art teacher.
Currently, I love reading books, watching my boys play soccer, the bands Phish and King Gizz, hiking 14ers, running, rafting, traveling, and all things photography.
Also, I love and am terrified of mountain lions.
