Lovely Photos from an Intimate Denver Botanic Gardens Wedding

Sarah + Jason’s Denver Botanic Garden Wedding

I can’t believe it has been over two years since Sarah and Jason got married during an intimate wedding ceremony at the Denver Botanic Gardens!

Every once in a while, I’ll notice I never blogged about a wedding, and I will feel awful. All of my weddings are incredible and I love sharing them! Until about a year ago, I submitted almost every wedding I photographed to wedding blogs to be featured. That way, couples planning weddings can use the images to get inspired for their own marriage celebration. At some point, I stopped following up on the submissions, and I let my membership to a blog submission organization lapse.

As such, I am sitting on several weddings that I cannot wait to share.

And first up is Sarah and Jason’s Denver Botanic Gardens wedding. Because with all the snow covering the ground and with winter starting to arrive…of course I want to linger in summertime and beautiful blooming flowers!

First Look

Since Sarah and Jason were walking down the aisle together, the wedding couple opted to have a first look.

Now, as a wedding photographer, I prefer first looks. They allow for couples to be in natural, emotive photos. And, they also allow for couples to take wedding party formals, family formals, and wedding couple portraits before the wedding ceremony. This means that everyone can relax and enjoy mingling/cocktails/etc. right after the wedding ceremony is over.

Wedding Ceremony

After the first look, it was time for the intimate wedding ceremony. Set near a pond, the couple walked to their ceremony arm in arm. Close family and friends were present to witness the marriage celebration.

Post-Ceremony

After the wedding ceremony, everyone mingled for a bit. The couple signed the marriage license and I took family portraits.

(I typically don’t share too many images of wedding day family portraits. I consider them to be very important and heirloom items, but because I love the candid, natural moments so much more, I tend to highlight those sorts of photographs.)

Wedding Couple Portraits

Well, I sure had fun during the next part of Sarah and Jason’s wedding day: we wandered around the Denver Botanic Gardens taking pictures of them among the flowers. Hello, can I do this everyday of my life? And, since these images are from 2016, I am totally wishing I could head there now and take photos of a couple using the skills I have gained over the past 2 years!

Well that was a fun trip down memory lane! I posted a sneak peek from their Denver Botanic Gardens wedding back in ’16. And I can’t wait to post more of the weddings that I haven’t shared over the next couple of months.
