Boulder Chautauqua Wedding {John + Lynn}

John and Lynn’s Outdoor Wedding Ceremony + Indoor Wedding Reception in Boulder, Colorado

It is no secret that I absolutely love a Boulder Chautauqua wedding! This is where I got married (on the green, through the city of Boulder and then in the Dining Hall). The views from the lawn are amazing–those Flatirons are breath-taking. The vibe from the outdoor space is so happy–young families playing, happy hikers, people picnicking and flying kites. And then the venue itself is great. Besides being a historic landmark (only one out of 25 in the state of Colorado), the venue is a great mix of old and new. By eating in the tent and then dancing the night away in the room with the fireplace, you get the both of both wedding settings.

John and Lynn’s wedding did not disappoint. We did the first look in one of the beautiful gardens at Chautauqua, and Lynn looked absolutely gorgeous. I love John’s bow tie, and how quickly Lynn adjusted it to make it perfect. The ceremony took place on the lawn (which is an outdoor venue if you are not familiar with Colorado wedding venues) with one of John’s relatives officiating it. (I love that friends and family can easily serve as wedding officiants in our state since Colorado law allows couples to marry each other, or sign as the officiating party without an ordained minister or judge.) The decorations were tasteful–the ombre wedding cake has still stood out in my memory out of the all wedding cakes that I have been lucky enough to see (and sample!). And the reception turned into quite the dance party, which is one of my absolute favorite perks about this job–getting to see people happy and dancing.
