A Mild Winter’s Evening Family Portrait Session
Denver, Colorado
I hope that you had a great Fourth of July holiday weekend, and that you were able to celebrate with your family and friends. My family and I enjoyed many things that Colorado has to offer: whitewater rafting on the Poudre River outside of Fort Collins with my husband and cousins and friends; a small personal fireworks display; swimming and fishing; Georgia Boys BBQ (the BEST BBQ on the Front Range); fabulous food including an amazing warm chili cheese dip and banana pudding; one so-bad-its-good movie (San Andreas); and of course Longmont’s very own fireworks display. And, I even got in a couple of naps.
And now that July is moving right along, why not share some images from six months ago, from right around Christmas time? A sort of Christmas in July share?! These portraits feature one of my favorite Denver, Colorado families. It is so much fun to see their son grow up, and I always enjoy chatting with the cool, down-to-earth parents. I wish we lived closer to each other so that I could see them more!
Bonus – Don’t Be Afraid to Take Family Photos in the Winter!
Another note about this Denver Colorado family photography session: it was taken on a mild Denver afternoon in December! Many families feel this crunch to do their photography session in the summer or early fall. And while I agree that this is a great idea, Colorado’s crazy weather can also work for winter sessions as well. There’s the mild winter days as shown here, or why not capture bundling up on a cold day and playing in the snow?!
