As I mentioned in my last post, one of the joys of my job is working with the same families again and again. I photographed Marisol and Michael at City Park in Denver for the engagement session in 2012. Then came their Artwork Network Denver wedding a couple months later.

One of the coolest things about my job is photographing the same family every year and seeing how the kids have grown.

Right now, I am still accepting weddings for 2014. My schedule is filling up, which makes me feel incredibly honored. I look forward to a whole new season of getting to know my wedding couples and to share in some of the most memorable moments of their lives. I look forward to pushing my photography skills, being more efficient in my growing business, and to being more mindful in all areas of my life. I look forward to a wonderful, joyful year, and I hope that yours is too. Happy 2014!

I love this wedding for many reasons. The Hotel Monaco where Marisol got ready is amazing. Her room was absolutely divine. And then when we met up at Cheesman Park for the first look and portraits, it started to snow. Marisol was a trooper–she even took off her coat in the frigid weather for portraits. I took mine off in solidarity. And their families braved the temps with enthusiasm and grace. It was craziness. The ceremony was sweet, with a good friend officiating. (I love it when the officiant is a dear friend or relative–so meaningful.) The rest of the reception was a blast–good food, loud music, fun dancing and one of my favorite photos ever (the couple crossing the street in the snow).

A couple thoughts…getting married at Planet Bluegrass seems like just about the coolest wedding venue possible. Home to Rocky Grass and the Folks Festival, Planet Bluegrass is steeped in music tradition. And it is beautiful–the stage, the silo, the open grassy field, the rock wall by the North St. Vrain River.
