When you step into Adornables, sunlight spills across shelves filled with playful wooden toys, soft organic onesies, and beautifully curated gifts that spark joy. This charming children’s boutique in Old Town Longmont has been part of the community for nearly twenty years — a testament to the dedication of owner Sharald, her passion for connection, and her love for all things family.

A Curated, On-Trend Shop for Families
Adornables is an on-trend shop featuring well-curated, responsibly sourced pieces you won’t see everywhere else. From sustainable toys to unique baby apparel, each item is hand-selected for both style and quality. “We like the uniqueness of an item first,” Sharald says. “Then we dig deeper to make sure the quality is good.”

From Stay-at-Home Mom to Boutique Owner
Originally from Seattle, Sharald moved to Longmont while pregnant with her youngest daughter, Remy. Once her girls reached school age, she decided it was time for something new. “I missed having a walkable community,” she says. “Old Town Longmont was perfect — and it was a good time in my life to take it on.”
What started as a leap of faith in 2006 — right in the middle of a recession — has grown into a beloved local staple that’s weathered challenges, including COVID, and come out stronger than ever.

A Shop That Grows With Its Families
Over nearly two decades, Sharald has built lasting relationships with her customers. “We’ve watched children grow up with us,” she shares. “Now some of those kids are having kids of their own. We know many of our customers by name — it’s the best part.”
Adornables offers clothing through age four, giftables up to age six, and treasures for older kids and parents on the adjoining “Adorn” side of the store.

Always Something New to Discover
Inventory changes almost daily — a mix of sustainable wood toys, baby apparel, and keepsakes that make perfect gifts for new parents. “Those who come in often know that things go fast,” Sharald laughs. “We never push sales, but our regulars are ‘Adorn-versed’ — they know how quickly favorites go.”
Favorite Local Spots
When asked about her favorite family-friendly places in town, Sharald smiles. “I’m partial to Crackpots — I was one of her first employees over 20 years ago. That was my introduction to downtown Longmont!” she says. She also loves her new neighbor, Juniper Goods, a cozy coffee shop that shares her commitment to community and connection.

Supporting Local, Always
Adornables is proudly woman-owned and deeply rooted in the Longmont community. Sharald continues to champion the importance of shopping small and supporting local businesses. “We’re here because of our customers,” she says. “This community means everything.”
