Summer Farm Wedding Outside of Boulder, Colorado

Lone Hawk Farm

Kelsey and Darren were so laid-back over all of our communications that I wasn’t sure what to expect when I showed up to photograph their Lone Hawk Farm wedding. And, happily, it was more of the same relaxed, go-with-the-flow vibe.

When I arrived to take getting ready photographs, the skies opened up and it poured, poured rain. Small rivers were running down the dirt driveway of the farm. It was pretty awesome, and the couple didn’t seem to fret at all.

By the time the wedding ceremony was due to start, the sun was shining and it was blazing hot. Oh, Colorado, this is you.

After that, I don’t have any recollection of the weather. I only remember how perfect their wedding day seemed to me…the focus was on togetherness and love, and it included a bluegrass band and chickens.

More favorite memories from this wedding include:

*The wedding dress photo with the goat. You can’t get that at every wedding venue!

*The music–yes I love me some live bluegrass.

*The dessert table. Family members (perhaps Kelsey’s mom–sorry, lady, I forget) provided a lavish dessert spread including gluten-free options. YUM! (I may or may not have helped myself to some treats!)

*Friends decorating Darren’s old VW.

*Instead of corsages, Kelsey had floral bracelets for the ladies. So convenient, and pretty to boot.

*Kelsey’s wedding dress. Unique, beautiful, and she looked stunning in it.

*Spending time at Lone Hawk Farm. The venue is great for photography–so many places for portraits. And I especially love the cocktail hour patio space and those twinkle lights they have hanging around it. And the animals too.

*Working with Root + Gather Events…such a great, helpful, fun team to have coordinate your wedding day. Alaina and Darcy are wonderful.
