17 Oct Another Fall Family Portrait Session
Fall Family Portrait Session in Lyons, Colorado
This little guy just turned one!
As I mentioned in my last post, I am so busy with fall family portrait sessions! I was happy to head towards the mountains with this young family to photograph them hanging out in the fall foliage with their pet dog. I cannot mention enough how much I enjoy photographing the same families year after year. I photographed this couple’s engagement session, their Lyons Farmette (one of my very favorite wedding venues!) wedding, their maternity session, their newborn session (and their blog post features tips for newborn photography success)…and now I get to see their little buddy growing up. Hashtag blessed.
When photographing a baby, these are some guidelines that I follow.
- I allot lots of extra time…there is no rush in these portrait sessions. Extra time for snacks or nursing, to recover from any tears, to take breaks, to change clothes or diapers.
- I like to keep moving around during these sessions, if needed. Babies tend to do well with movement, being walked around by mom and dad.
- …But I also like to try sitting them by themselves for a few minutes. Sometimes quiet moments are priceless when photographing little ones!
- I advise parents bring props like toys, snacks, or other loved possessions. I usually bring a blanket with me, but if a family has their own that matches their esthetic/decor/outfits, I’d recommend that one!
Enjoy the images from this fall family portrait session! And, thanks for spending some time with me.
